Water Plan

Itasca County Water Plan

The Itasca SWCD is in charge of administering the Itasca County water plan.  The water plan is a guide to how the county plans to conserve the quality, quantity and integrity of the county's lakes, rivers, streams and wetlands.  The plan uses public input to rank water related concerns in the county and dictates how those concerns will be addressed over the next 5 years.  The water plan is reviewed and updated every 5 years and is in the process of being updated and functional for 2007.

This page is dedicated to the continually updated Itasca County Water Plan.  Check back as new information is updated periodically.

On April 10, 2007 the Itasca County Commissioners adopted the 2007-2017 Itasca County Local Water Management Plan, and passed a resolution to support the plan's implementation as well as to integrate the plan into the County Comprehensive Land Use Plan.  You can view the water plan by clicking the link below.
